Sweet Sixteen

Tattoos on young people were extremely rare before the fall of the Soviet Union.  They were used almost exclusively used as a form of communication for criminals.  Dmitri’s tattoos, unlike those of prisoners, were not drawn with a burnt boot soles and piss concoction.  His were drawn with India ink and have no meaning for traditional law-breakers.  Explaining why he has two huge tattoos on both arms would be giving too much away, however it is important to note that the symbol etched on both his arms says a lot about what he is.  Another bodily modification on this boy can be seen in his mouth.  More on those choppers, later.
