Ugly Alex, Dima and Zoya are hanging out in their usual spot in the cramped bedroom. The boys look really bummed. Zoya eats a bagel sandwich and swigs vodka. She has no make-up nor, a wig on. Ugly Alex is playing guitar. Dima is reading Fyodor Dostoyevsky’s Crime and Punishment.

Ugly to Dima:
Since when do you read books outside of school, Dima?

FRAME 2
Dima holds up the book for all to see with one hand. Dima’s gaze is melancholic and his body language is drained of any enthusiasm.

Dima to Ugly:
Since I started to question the morality of any government that would construct a monster for the purpose of promoting athletic chicanery in world-class competition.

FRAME 3
Ugly continues to play guitar, pretending not to care.
